Rude and nasty hotel

I still have not spoken to anyone at the hotel. First I arrived 10 min early at 2:50 and I was told because I had dogs I would have to wait for a bottom floor room. I have stayed plenty of times at this hotel and Ive never had a problem. I am also a IHG member. The manager was extremely rude to me when trying to get accommodated for my stay. I spoke with cooperate and I was told I could be refunded my pet fee but she refused to give me back my money when I still did not get into my hotel room until 3:40pm. I am so disappointed with my stay.

Disappointed

my plan was to have a pool party for my neices 18th birthday. Well that didn't work out in my favor at all.

I initially called before I booked to ask if the rooms i booked could be next to each other and also stated I was having a pool party. When I arrived I found out the pool is under renovation and has been for months. The front desk and manager refused to give me a refund because they stated," I canceled late". But, I didnt know til I got there that the pool wasn't up and running.

Priceline felt bad and gave me some money back they even called in and the front desk still refused. Birthday party ruined.

I checked out on the 27th of October. Oct 30th I was charged for $369.68. Nov 1st I was charged again for $554.52. I called after the first charge and they didnt realize I was gone said they would refund & then just a couple days later ran my card again for an even bigger amount. Its been a *** of a time trying to get this resolved.

Let me start off by saying, my husband and I stayed at the Fort Lee, Va location for about a month through via his employer and every staff member was legitimately amazing, nice, respectful, and accommodating; however, the Chesapeake location manager and stay has not been the same.

My husband checked in on Sunday, July 9th, at that time he inquired if a king bed was available. The front desk person who checked us in advised him that it was not, but to inquire daily.

Well, Monday morning I awoke to no power and it being out for about 2.5 - 3 hours. (I travel with my husband as he works and I work remotely. I was with him at the Fort Lee location, so I can a test to the superior service at that location.) Also, while the power was out it became a little hot in the room, so I left for a few hours, when I came back there were two men in the room that said they were switching out the microwave for an enclosed one. I was taken back because no one had advised that this would be taking place.

Especially when the power just came back on, we just checked in the day before, nor did anyone advise when I walked and passed the front desk that maintenance (two men) would be in the room.

Tuesday, (today) I came back from an outing and who I would assume to be the general manager was at the front desk. My husband asked me to inquire about the king bed again, and he had also misplaced his key. I first requested the keys. She asked my name and I told her she checked the log and looked at me with this look and said "What's the last name!" with an attitude.

I spelled it for her, and she said "OH, I thought you said Hurt!" I then went on to inquire about the king bed, and she proceeded to get very nasty with her reply of, "I already told my staff to tell you no! Your husband is with McLean they have to make that request!" I replied, "I'm aware, we've been doing this for years, but we first need to know when the room will be available for him to make the request to the employer. She said more but instead of matching her energy, I walked away. By the time I got to the room my husband called me and asked about the interaction which at the time I chalked it up to she must be having a bad day.

This "manager" called my husband's job (Rhonda, the coordinator) and LIED on me advising that I was trying to change the room!!!

I simply inquired if one was available so that my husband can reach out to his employer coordinator, to request the upgrade.

Your employee seems to have an issue that needs to be addressed. Making accusations that are clearly NOT true on a person who is here working could have had some type of adverse effect. We live in a world where people can call the police and lie on people to have them arrested for no reason is equivalent to calling a person's employer and lying while they are staying at one of your facilities. It was uncalled-for.

My husband would have reached out to his employer on his own, the same way we did at the Fort Lee location. All she had to do was advise when the room was available.

I would suggest some type of training or removing her from a position that requires her interaction with all types of people.

I would also like to add issues with the room. The bathroom shower curtain was only snapped in half way, ( no big deal but the towels had other peoples hair in them) Also, the microwave does not have a fan for cooking and the windows do not open making for a very steamy cooking process.

If he was only here for a week no big deal; however, we will be here for the minimum of a month. When I called the front desk to inquire if the smoke alarm will go off she said, "It's fine, it won't be the first time.

User's recommendation: if this is the manager for this location, she needs additional training before she causes someone to loose their job. Better laundry service or new towels. Rooms need to be checked after housekeeping to ensure room is properly prepared for guest. Microwave with fans and windows that can slightly open to release the heat while cooking.

Deposit not refunded

I stayed at Candlewood suites over 2 weeks ago and have talked to them numerous times and theyve said they will refund my deposit and still have not. Ive tried customer service and emailed them and received no response. Very disappointed to say the least.

When I first got to this hotel everything was okay then as time went on, Brandon would always run my card on a audit when Ive paid on time the day before, getting phone calls from Jennifer or Juni stating I havent paid, when I looking at my bank statement and staff not communicating with each other, Im at the counter expressing Im paying and I have to repeat myself, halls smell like weed, guest standing by front door smoking cigarettes, couldnt use the grill area and gym, guess sit around in both areas , smoking by the grill, sitting in the gym doing nothing , lobby furniture being sat on when they be in there rooms, I had a guest that put his hand on my car window, he had his car door open n I couldnt back out my space, I expressed to the front desk to find out who he is and handle this, nothing done, cant print anything off the computer, housekeepers count towels when I give the soiled ones, the harassment on not paying when in fact I did, all of this made me leave it was just to much stress!!!

Only the one I stayed at. The Manager Michelle disrespects guests and her employees. She is hardly onsite. The 2, 3, and 4 floors ,doors, rooms are trashy compared to the first floor. She has a foul mouth and cusses people out if they are bothering her. She repeats false accusations to cover her butt. This would be a nice hotel if cooperate fires her and gets another quality manager.

Obscene charges to my bank card before I even checked out

They added a ton of obscene charges to my account, have not refunded, did not clean my room, then try to charge me a bunch of cleaning fees after I had to clean my own room change my own sheets had no toilet paper the entire time and didn't clean my room after I requested so. Let them know I would be at a funeral the next day and asked if I could just renew the check-in after I went to the funeral cuz I wasn't sure how long it was going to last.

They said that was fine. The next day they proceeded to call nine times during my sister's funeral. Pounded on my door the next day yelling at me that I needed to leave or check out when I was sleeping even though it wasn't check out time yet. Also their linens are from a local charity for families called family promise.

I know this because I had to get my own sheets out of the linen room. Which I find ironic considering that they tried to max out every card that I had on file. And it was just me my husband and my young child. They charged me a $50 deposit each time I renewedMy stay which was fine, but before I even checked out they started charging $100 fees $150 fees on top of the deposits and room charges I already paid.

We took out our own trash the whole time, no other guests took out their trash. When I left I got all my trash together and put it in garbage bags. The room was no dirtier than any other normal hotel room would be, especially considering I didn't get room service even when requested and had to buy my own cleaners. They saw my room before I checked out and said nothing.

However a couple hours after I left I noticed that they had charged me before I even checked out of the hotel a bunch of fees. When I tried to speak to the manager about it she said the hotel room was dirty and I needed to have it clean for the next guest or something like that I don't know. Not once once did they say anything before we checked out or about any fees at all when I checked in. Considering how much money I spent on the room in addition to deposits in all these fees, I am extremely disappointed and feel taken advantage of.

The way they treated us after it was different staff than the first few days. Those staff were extremely rude and when I went to renew my stay after my sister's funeral they said they didn't care what I had going on. Even though I let them know prior that that would be where I was and they were okay with it.

Honestly I feel like I should be returned not only the fees but the cost of my stay considering that I didn't receive any room service change my own sheets and was treated like crap and couldn't even attend my sister's funeral without my phone being blown up. I much rather would have paid double for another hotel then deal with all this crap

Refund

This hotel. Is. Ridiculous trying to steal money from people who havent been there. Since Dec 27. And Dec 29. My son left for fa. The 27 of Dec. and they keep chg his card over drawing his acct 1000. Which locked his money in his acct that for there stupidity. He has to pay. We will get a lawyer. They also chg my daughters card 9 times in a row. Affecting her acct as well. Thats theft and we intend to do something abt it. Weve waited and made numerous complaints. And no resolution. So. The banks said press charges and sue them which we intend to do.

Room with no heat

I stayed at candlewood Jan 26 it was extremely cold when we checked in we turned the heat on and for a few hours and upon our return the room was still blowing cold air I tried calling the front desk but all I got was busy signal I went to the desk and complained to the clerk she then came back to the room and once the door opened she said oh its cold and went to the thermostat and it was up to almost 90 but blowing cold air she then said she could give me more blankets because there were no rooms available but could possibly change the room the next day I drove 10 hours for a family funeral and I couldnt even shower or get comfortable I asked to speak with manager both days and it seems as if they just didnt care gave the runarounds for 48 but was happy to charge me 355 dollars and a 50 deposit very unsatisfied customer will never ever stay at candlewood in ft Myers ever again
